Improving Your Digestive Health

Gastric juices

During digestion, the stomach produces gastric juices to break down food and absorb nutrients. These fluids contain enzymes, which are used to break up long chains of amino acids that make up proteins. The enzymes are produced by glands located in the lining of the stomach.
